Worship

Worship at IPLC is the center of our journey together as Christians. Worship here is dynamic, yet focused and joyful in response to God's action in, among, and around us.

Worship, as in all Lutheran congregations, has a basic pattern. We gather, encounter God's Word, share a meal at the Lord's table, and we are sent into the world. Worship is an encounter with God, who saves us through the life, death and, resurrection of Jesus Christ.

After more than 100 years on our journey, we proclaim God's patient and powerful love for all the world. We hear the call to bring justice to all people and the story of Jesus Christ that brings strength to our everyday lives and comforts us during times of stress, illness, decision making, grief, separation, joy, and sadness.

We hear the word through readings from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, through preaching, prayer, and hymn praises. God feeds and nourishes us in a saving way, weekly through Holy Communion and through Baptism. God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world.

Our worship experience involves many people, of all ages, who prepare the worship space; welcome all; read the lessons; sing songs, dance, and play instruments; collect our offerings; and assist with the liturgy and communion.

Come experience worship at IPLC; come share the journey!
