Music Program

The Music Program at IPLC

An excellent music program enriches and enlivens worship at IPLC.

The Chancel Choir sings a broad repertoire from classical to contemporary. No experience is necessary to join the choir, and it is a great group to be part of, whether you can make it every week or only occasionally—the schedule is designed to welcome drop-ins as well as regulars. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 9:30 am, and one Wednesday evening a month (following second Sundays) at 8:00 pm. The choir sings at every 10:30 am Sunday service from September – May, except the second Sunday of the month. For more information, contact music@iplc.org.

The Contemporary Ensemble shares an eclectic range of music encompassing more contemporary idioms that are easy and fun to sing. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings after the 10:30 am worship service, and Ensemble sings on the second Sunday of the month at the 10:30 am worship service. For more information, contact music@iplc.org.

The Bells of Irving Park - Three octaves of Halmark bells are played by 11 people, or with some arrangements by a smaller group. No experience is necessary to join, and we can always use substitute players. Rehearsals are scheduled per upcoming performances, taking place on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm and some Sundays after the 10:30 service. For more information, contact music@iplc.org.

Gospel & Praise - Gospel music includes gospel favorites of the past and incorporates contemporary, worship and praise styles of music led by FAITHCHICAGO, including professional IPLC members and non-member musicians. Musical experience required. For more information contact dwan@iplc.org.

Country/Folk/Bluegrass - A country/folk/bluegrass quartet, Holy Smokes, is comprised of congregational members and regularly offers special music in worship.
